Dj Carimo
My given name is Fábio Emanuel Carimo, professionally known as Dj Carimo. Born and raised in Portugal (Barreiro), Who is half-Caste Angolan and Mozambican due to his parents heritage.
Dj Carimo, has been passionately giving life to musics by mixing them and exploring its content since 2002. It all started back in Portugal when he was invited to play at several birthday parties. From a kids party to an adult party he knew how to deliver the service efficiently and effectively. From the ages of 14 to 16 he partook in these appearances.
Dj Carimo’s Journey started furthermore when he was invited to become a Resident Dj in a B-Soul Bar in Lisbon, Portugal. When given the opportunity to show the community his true passion for the music industry, he was extremely honoured. To him, it was as if his dreams were becoming a reality.
Dj Carimo worked in the B-Soul Bar for about 2 years where he developed his skills alongside two other major Dj’s, Dj Matador and Dj Waldo. After B-Soul Bar, he was invited to be the Resident Dj of Miami club also in Portugal and worked there for 3 years. As he was a Resident of a Nightclub for 3 years, he also did several appearances in other nightclubs throughout Portugal.
As he got older he decided to move to England. He believed that working his way up through the music industry in a foreign country would be difficult. However soon after, he was invited to play at a nightclub called Jetset Club with promoters JetSet Brother’s. After demonstrating his work, he was officially given the chance to become the resident dj, where he worked every Saturday.
Dj Carimo worked alongside an incredibly popular and reputable Dj called Dj Mirokikola, which lasted for about 2 years.
Working alongside various Dj’s assisted Dj Carimo in developing his technique and his passion for music has continued to grow since.
By working in Jetset Club he was able to demonstrate his passion for the music industry to the Portuguese community in London.
So far, he has released several remixes with different instrumental types ranging from afrobeats to kizomba beats.
DJ Carimo is a versatile dj but is more focused and specialised in Kizomba (Zouk).After years of development, DJ Carimo is a familiar name throughout nightclubs in London and Portugal.
He is now a Freelancer Dj.
The future sees light to DJ Carimo’s journey in the music industry focusing on the development and evolution of his long-term career.
